4 weeks agoWaited 20 minutes for a drink and another 37 minutes before we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. I don't care what restaurant it is you don't push others orders in front of other orders because they are ordering food you already have ready because it's a special or carmen food ordered. There was 5 table sat down after us and they got food before us. Don't offer so many choice , if you can't keep up in the kitchen. They had at least eight people standing in the kitchen and supposedly only one person cooking. And 3 waitresses and our waitress was rude. The owner was very rude, very loud and was instantly irritated with us. Because we were leaving because we sat so long to get our food. And yes, I have worked in a restaurant before you do not put somebody else's order in front of the order. That was already there. Because, you know the person or because the food is a common food, you do your tickets as they come into the kitchen. So now I will never go back to this place, and I will never recommend it worst restaurant ever been into.

Edited a month agoGreat place. Priced perfect! Amazing fried chicken. Other food is great too but the chicken is awesome. Edited my review because I am tired of places saying they are open when they are not. If your sign says a time that's the time you start/stop serving the public. I've worked in the food industry before. You showed up early open when you said, and stayed late to clean up when you closed to the public.

3 months agoToday was my first time eating here. My waitress was in a foul or depressed mood. Almost as if my presence was an annoyance or some kind of affront to her existence. Idk if she was having a bad day or what, but I most certainly did not feel welcomed by her actions. I ordered the blue cheese burger with french fries and an appetizer of fried pickles with an unsweetened iced tea to drink. Total price $20.91. The burger was well stacked, but the patty had the texture and flavor of a microwave gravy-less salisbury steak. The bun wasn't toasted or maybe it was just cold. The bacon was pretty flimsy, almost raw it seemed like to me. I had a couple of bites that had gristle of some kind, or maybe it was the raw bacon, I couldn't tell. The fries were fresh and hot, but unseasoned, which wasn't that big a deal, but still worth mentioning. As for the fried pickles, they were hot and fresh and had a decent unseasoned pickle flavor, however the rinds of the pickles were very tough and I had to spit them out. I ended up bringing almost the entire order home and gave them to my pigs. My Overall experience today for my first visit wasn't a good one, but it wasn't really that bad either. I was very unsatisfied with the meal I was served. However, I am willing to return and try other items from their menu. I did like the restaurant itself. It was clean and looked nice inside and was very well staffed. It is vlearly loved by the community due to all the good reviews and how full it was at 1230 when I came in. Maybe I just happened upon an anomaly today and future visits will earn the 4+ stars that everyone else is giving.

6 months agoHere it is! Real Deal Real Food Done Right. Autumn was a delightful server. With a Smile. Without a doubt there is some kind of Magic going on in the kitchen... We had a steak burger that was great. The chicken livers and gizzards! Definitely the best that ever have ever had. Top notch. Definitely a must for family and friends.... I am looking forward to returning to Dodson's On Broadway. I would suggest Dodson's to the people you love and care for.

Edited 4 months agoGreat place to eat, the staff are always very nice. I'm glad to have you back open after the fire.... Let's call this my favorite place to eat in New Lexington. Just as a side note, stopped in today with my wife for lunch at a11am. Still great service (a bit slower today), but the reason for my edit today is having to suffer through listening to the view in the television. Everyone is untitled to their own opinions and beliefs. But please be respectful and don't force them on others...

7 months agoThe food is basically home cooking. Good tasting food with respectable portion sizes and quick friendly service. I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and my mom had the grilled cheese and chili and we split an order of breaded mushrooms. The only complaint I had was my soup and grilled cheese were borderline cool when I received them. Other than that it was a great visit. I like the comfortable country atmosphere and the servers were outstanding and nice.

7 months agoThis is one of if not the best restaurant in New Lex! Amazing food, great service, and a nice homey feel. The food is reasonably priced, and all of the staff are very friendly.

Edited 8 months agoUpdate 2025: still great food, the diner has re-opened after the fire/arson. The remodel is very nice and we are so glad to have them open as an option again. Update 2024: Please find something better for takeout orders tired of having a mess in the tray. Update 2023 - with some new photos of the menu. Previous reviews were from over 6 years ago. Great chicken strips. Wish they had spicy chicken strips as a choice. Great food choices all around.
